The Hudson Area Library Foundation periodically hosts events to help raise funds, say thank you, or promote awareness. Since COVID our events have slowed a bit, but we hope to see everyone in the near future for more fun!

Our Past Events

2022 Chamber Expo

You might have noticed the HALF team at the Hudson Chamber Expo! Our table had information about the funding issues, ways to give, a signup for those interested in our Read-a-thon, AND hourly drawings for some of our past reading buddy stuffed animals. The booth was quite a hit with some of our younger readers!

Read-a-thon

To help support the Library, we had a short trial Read-a-thon during the summer of 2020 and 2021. The Read-a-thon was open to all ages. Each year had a different grouping of prizes, but in both years readers received a stuffed animal.

This event offered a fun opportunity for families to help impact the Library and be entered for a larger prize.

VIP Fireworks

Before 2020, donors of $500 and more were invited to a private fireworks viewing from the Library balcony. HALF provided drinks and snacks for the guests. The view is spectacular and the company is always astounding! This event was an opportunity for our foundation to say “thank you” to our larger donors.

The Gastby Gala

We marked our 30th Anniversary in 2019 and decided to celebrate with a live jazz concert from the amazing Patty Peterson. More than 75 guests attended the 20’s themed event and enjoyed a glass of bubbly, amazing food, and some fantastic raffle items.

Hogwarts After Hours

In 2018 and 2019 we hosted a magical event for those who love all things Harry Potter. The event offered experiences Potter enthusiasts would appreciate including a themed menu, challenge, activities, and a trip through Diagon Alley.
